My 7-year-old son asked for this book; I bought it for him this afternoon; and he spent the next (literally) six hours absorbed in it until I kicked him up to bed. If you have a bright son who loves to draw, write and express himself, this book is for him. Girls love to write about themselves; boys sometimes have trouble, and this book gives them a kick-start by providing templates for written and artistic expression.Book Review: Good books for children

I ordered all five Diary of a Wimpy Kid books for my 10 year old son. He doesn't like to read books, but when he started reading the first book he couldn't put it down. In less then 2 weeks he finished all 5 books. He had fun with the Do-It-Yourself Book. He Loves them. Now my 7 year old daughter has just finished the first book and is getting ready to start the 2nd. Best purchase for my children yet.Book Review: Great, funny and interactive book!

My 6 year old son loves this book. He loves to sit and write in his "diary" and I hear him laugh out loud while reading it and writing in it. They have really funny and interesting questions and it is fun to read what your child wrote. It is also great for learning because he asks me what certain words mean ('predict') and how to spell words he wants to write in it. This book has rarely been away from my son since he got it over three weeks ago. He complains about having to do his spelling and reading homework, but he is doing all of that - and laughing - while he works away in this Do It Yourself book. He is reading, writing, and coming up with his own creative and funny stories. This has boosted his confidence as a writer. And he's having fun! I love it!Book Review: My 8-year-old LOVES this book!

My 8-year old son has enjoyed the Wimpy Kid book series and was really excited to get this do-it-yourself version. He opened it on Christmas morning and started filling it out right away. He doesn't want me to read it because he says it is his private journal. I am happy that he likes to write in it and express his creativity. He is also reading the other books in the series that he received.
