My 8 yr old son loved all 3 of the Wimpy Kid books and he loves the Do -It -Yourself book as well. I hesitated to order this one initially. I expected that he wouldn't use it much, because I have to really press him to get him to write anything outside of required homework. Boy was I wrong. He writes in it almost everyday, usually several times a day. He loves it. It is not just a blank journal, it has an interactive style that is perfect for keeping my child engaged.Book Review: If your child likes funny, you will not be dissapointed

My boy hated reading until we found the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. He would spend hours reading this book. He would go to his room and just read. This is completely amazing coming from a boy that prefers to watch TV and play computer games every chance he gets. The books are laugh outloud books. The jokes are above the "knock-knock, who's there", but completely appropiate for a 8 year old. Buy the entire series. Now he asks me when the next book will be published.Book Review: My daughter loves this DIY book!!

My daughter is a huge Diary of a Wimpy Kid fan, so when she found out that there was a DIY book, she couldn't wait to get one! She received this for her birthday, and has been writing in it ever since! It's filled with plenty of parts that kids can fill in themselves, in addition to the usual comics-type pictures and such. Overall, very pleased with this book, and my daughter is as well! Would make a great gift for any Diary of a Wimpy Kid fan. :)Book Review: Awsome for kids!

My son who is 8 looooves these books! He can't get enough of them. Unfortunately we have to wait for the next one till Jan and they have not made many of these books he has all of them and read them all very quickly. It keeps his attention from cover to cover and doesn't put it down till he read the whole book. He absolutely loved the do it yourself book he had a ball filling in all his details. I would definitely recommend this book.Book Review: Great for creative kids

My 8-year old creative son loves this book. It provides a great methodology for him to express himself in a creative way that he would not have thought of on his own. The book accomplishes this by having the child answer questions, draw pictures, create stories, and draw & write cartoons. My son is a second grader, and I think this is the minimum grade level for this book due to the book's content and the required writing skills.
