Book Reviews of Devil May Cry (Dark-Hunter, Book 11)Book Review: What can you say Summary: 5 Stars
This is Kenyon and all of her Dark Hunter books are a legal addiction :).
Book Review: A 3 1/2, but because I love the series, a 4! Summary: 4 Stars
Kat has been ordered, by her mother, Artemis, to locate and kill Sin, a seemingly evil and rogue Dark Hunter. Eager to please her mother, Kat tracks down Sin (ex-fertility God & Sumerian) and realizes that everything is not what it seems. Sin isn't exactly evil, and she doesn't exactly have the stomach to kill him especially since she is hiding a secret (that it is she who stole his powers and not her mother). It soon becomes evident that "deliciously sexy Sin" has been trying to prevent some really bad things from happening to a very unsuspecting world. As each face their own secret pasts and devastating pasts, they have to save the world and each other. As Kat attempts to right a wrong, Sin fights to locate his brother, Zakar (who not only holds the key to the mystery but who also has the ability to prevent evil from escaping) and forgive himself for not protecting him. Meanwhile Sin learns that Zakar has been held and tortured by some really bad people who care nothing about humankind. And on top of that, our beloved Ash is being held as a love slave by Artemis and was never told that Kat was his daughter.
If you love the Dark Hunter series, Devil May Cry will not leave you disappointed, just with some of the same questions that you had before, even though you do get a little more information about why Ash deals with Artemis. Although Ash is sacrificing himself for mankind, I am a little tired of Artemis and her antics. But with that said, you do get to see some of the characters that you have grown to love as the series developed (Simi, Ash, Hates, etc), and there are definitely hints of future stories (novel ends in a cliffhanger) to come.
Book Review: Kat and Sin Summary: 4 Stars
I like this book and how it answered quite a few loose ends about Ash, but since I did come upon this series late I have the fun advantage of cherry-picking books from it. This is probably the reason why I'm not all that disappointed about Acheron's book and what came after it. But this book is really good despite the fact that the main characters are less human and more gods who are still influenced by love in their own godly lives. This actually got me thinking how is it that LOVE is not a curiculum in basic education if it fixes everything? Is KNOWLEDGE really is power? Maybe it is knowing how to love or loving the knowledge. This is really a fun way of re-learning mythology and then some. I highly recommend the entire series in however way you want to read it.
As far the characters in this book I was kinda hoping Zakar and Kytara would have an HEA.
Why can't this book be in kindle?
Book Review: Hot as "Sin" Summary: 4 Stars
Another winner in Kenyon's endlessly imaginative and sexy DArk-HUnter series. The 11th novel, "DEvil May Cry", is the story of Dark HUnter, Sin, an ex-Sumarian god turned DArk HUnter with the fate of the world in his hands, an axe to grind with the greek goddess, Artemis, and a serious growing crush on Artemis' daughter, Kat Agrotera. The story is the usual delicious caldron mix of gods, goddesses, daimons, charonte demons, gallu demons, dream hunters and the ultimate salvation of a broken, but hunky, DArk Hunter through the power of selfless and unconditional love.
YOu'll also get a tasty dose of Acheron (Ash) and further unraveling of his ongoing relationships with his Dark hunters, "Artie", and an important "new" character in his life. All and all, very entertaining. Enjoy !
Book Review: Thank you Thank you--better than the last 2!!! Summary: 4 Stars
After being disappointed by the previous dark hunter books, I took a break and did not pick up Devil may Cry until it had come out in mass market paper back. I figured less investment=less anger if it stinks. I did enjoy this one and was glad I did read it. I am happy to say Sherrilyn Kenyon seemed back in form. I am hoping the trend continues!!!
