Book Review: One of the best books I've ever read!!
Summary: 5 Stars
It's rare that a book comes along that dramatically changes my way of thinking about a social issue, but this book did that. It made me think about the death penalty in a new light. Sister Prejean discusses the Bible's treatment of the death penalty, and it was eye-opening to see how much people commonly mis-interpret the Bible on this issue. Not to mention, this book was so interesting, I could not put it down until I'd finished it. There are few books that I've found this gripping - In Cold Blood is the only one I can think of off-hand. After I read this book, I gave it to other members of my family. We all agreed it was one of the best books we'd ever read.

In 1982, Sister Helen Prejean became the spiritual advisor to Patrick Sonnier, the convicted killer of two teenagers who was sentenced to die in the electric chair of Louisiana's Angola State Prison. In the months before Sonnier's death, the Roman Catholic nun came to know a man who was as terrified as he had once been terrifying.
