Book Reviews of Day by Day Armageddon (A Zombie Novel)Book Review: One of the best zombie books of all time Summary: 5 Stars
There is a new version of this coming soon, my review refers to the pre-Permuted version I purchased a few years ago.
The book that kicked off the zombie craze remains one of my all time favorites. Many have rehashed the plot so I won't bother. Let me just say that the writing is crisp and professional, the author obviously has a military background, and the zombies are scary as heck.
I just finished a re-read a week ago and the book kicks just as much butt now as it did then. I hope the new pocketbooks version makes JL a household name because he deserves it.
Book Review: A fine example of what GREAT zombie novel is!!! Summary: 5 Stars
"Day by day Armagedon" (DDA) really captures all the fear of being survivors in a zombie-infested world and even when all hope seems lost human ingenuity will still pull through. Not only that - there are elements of family compassion as seen through the only surviving child of one of the families rescued. Romance is hinted at as well where we left off between the main character and a woman that was rescued. This book will keep you at the edge of your seat and guessing at every turn (of the pages). Definitely a good buy - can't wait for the next one! Hope it comes out in Kindle.
Book Review: A survival horror masterpiece Summary: 5 Stars
This book was amazing; I could not put it down once I started reading it. I have been a zombie fan all my life and it was very refreshing to see a original story that wasnt a clone of others. The problem with most zombie stories is you can predict what will happen because it happened in every other one. When I was reading this book I could not stop because I wanted to know what could possibly happen to the main character after all hes been through. I can not wait for DBDA2 to come out because I have already read this book like 5 times and its still great each time.
Book Review: Well written Zombie Book - With a military angle Summary: 5 Stars
I've read a bunch of zombie literature over the years, and I accidentally stumbled across this gem! Written by active military J. Bourne, the book takes the form of a action-packed diary written by a survivor of a zombie plague. Some very interesting plot twists and scenarios, and the fact that it's contemporary, well written and a good read combines to make this a sure classic in the making! The second volume is due out here sometime in 2008, so support the author and pick up a copy of volume one - you won't be disappointed if you enjoy zombie literature.
Book Review: This is me, letting you know I think you should buy this book! Summary: 5 Stars
Ok, so this is my first review and I'm not going to get into plot detail and what not. Read the book, you'll learn the plot.
I will say that I'm in my 20s, I'm in the navy and I like zombies. That being said, this was a great book. Everyone talks about the spelling errors and the grammer but it's written "journal style" by an average guy so it just adds to the realness of the book. I even think the fake stains and rips are a nice touch.
If you like zombies and people trying to survive in a world full of them, then this is the book for you!
