Book Review: FUNNY!!!!

My sister-in-law gave us this cd a few years ago to listen to on our trip home after a visit with her and my brother-in-law. We had a 5 hour drive from Dallas to home. It was a good thing we visited the restroom before we left. We were in Dallas traffic laughing so hard at Mr. Sedaris' stories, we would have peed our pants otherwise! He is a treasure!!!! This CD was my introduction to David Sedaris. My daughter played it for me while we were driving up to visit family for Thanksgiving. I was laughing so hard I couldn't see straight. Was afraid I'd be a danger on the road. Sedaris's reading is pitch perfect, his comedic timing on the mark, and his material ranges from hilarious to poignant. Am getting several as gifts for friends/family this Christmas. Can't recommend it enough.Book Review: Listen with care while driving

I have enjoyed Sedaris's writing for a number of years now, but I confess taht this is the first time I've listened to a recording of him reading them. My only regret after listening to the CD is that I've waited this long. His sense of timing and delivery were flawless. At one point I actually had to find a place to park as I was laughing so hard the tears were making it hard to see.Book Review: Pull Over!!!!!

The first time I heard this program was during my local NPR's fund drive.
We were driving and listening as we started laughing more and more. What the people in the cars passing us must have thought as we rolled passed,laughing hysterically and wiping the tears from our eyes! I had to actually pull over at the next intersection to finish listening.

If you're a fan of his books, you'll really enjoy this cd. I still listen to it after owning it for a couple of years, and it still makes me laugh out loud. His deadpan delivery makes the material even funnier than reading it. I had the pleasure of seeing him in person in Champaign, Illinois, and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it.
