Book Review: Dexter is great.

The book is different from the television show if you're like me and saw the show first, this is a little different. It's definitely worth checking out and it gives you a better insight on Dexter's mind and a lot more on how he thinks then the show does. Very good stuff. Love the show as well. Dearly Devoted Dexter was also good. Read them back to back, didn't really put them down much.Book Review: GO DEXTER!!!

I first started watching the series on Showtime and was hooked. I bought the first season DVD and all the books.
I am going to buy the second season DVD as well.
The show is VERY GOOD!! It keeps you on the edge of your seat. The character Dexter is likeable yet scarey. All the characters are very interesting.
I think Showtime did an awesome job in the cast.

I bought the book because I just finished watching the Showtime series. I was expecting the book to be really close to what took place in the series but it turns out the book has a different twist than the series did. The different twist was still excellent and it was nice to have a completely different ending than what I was expecting. Dexter is a sympathetic character who happens not to have normal human feelings. Moreover, he harbors the Dark Passenger deep in his psyche, and his other persona is a viciouse, libidinal killer. Despite all of this, Dexter is an engaging and interesting person who you will want to get to know.. as long as he's only in a book. The Showtime series, Dexter is very close to this first book, it does deviate in a few places, but this is the closest I've seen between a book and tv. Darkly Dreaming Dexter is dark and devious...a wonderful read. A clear view into a killer's mind. At least he's only killing the bad guys! Which is why he's the serial killer we love to love.
