Book Review: Doesn't Cover Issues I Thought It Would
Summary: 3 Stars
I chose this book from among three I was considering, but I wish I hadn't. Instructions for many of the repairs covered can be found online or come with the items purchased to do a job, like installing a peephole. In addition, issues I have encountered aren't covered in this book, including how to "summerize" pipes outside my home in a Phoenix, Ariz., suburb so that, even with my water heater turned off, I don't continue to have burning hot water and scalding "cold" water. Also, the book did not address how to re-set (this may be the wrong term) the metallic drain in a bathroom sink so that when the stopper is up, water will drain from the sink and not just sit on top of the metal drain and on top of the sink area surrounding the drain. I think the book is great for 20-somethings with upper body strength who live where the temps go to freezing and below, but it didn't help me much.
