Book Reviews of Dandelion: Memoir of a Free SpiritBook Review: LOVED IT Summary: 5 Stars
I really LOVED this book! It's rare that you find a person who's been through so much come out with inspiration and excitement for her life rather than bitterness and regret. Catherine managed to make the usual "famous name drops" in her book just icing on the cake, rather than the best part of the book.. even though her life is filled with sometimes unbearable struggles, her stories of strength, complete freedom and "live for the moment" attitude leave you feeling envious.. great story
Book Review: WONDERFULLY INSPIRING AND A WONDERFUL READ!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Miss Catherine James survived a harrowing childhood with unfathomable grace, dignity, and an enormous capacity of love for her child. Many many famous names, adventures, and successes in her life lie within also! I have read this book twice already as I read it so fast the first time! A can't put down read that inspired so much admiration in me that Miss James' grace and dignity is only surpassed in my opinion by the late Princess Diana, if then. I think that says it all.
Book Review: Loved this book! Summary: 5 Stars
I wanted to crawl into this book and give her a warm hug! Literally read in one night. So enjoyed being taken back to that amazing time in music history...it wasn't a "groupie" book, she didn't go out to meet musicians, she was forced out by the "witches". She is a compassionate survivor and didn't take the easy way out by self-medicating with drugs to numb her pain. Wished it was longer and look forward to her next writings. Buy this book and enjoy the trip!
Book Review: A must 5 Stars
Absolutely fascinating book by Catherine James. I want to say this is a turn pager, but I won't. Its more than just a page turner, it's a connection you can't get away from even if you tried too. Catherine has triumphed over many life changing moments, and was able to express it in her words as though you were right beside her as each episode unfolded before your eyes. This book is a must read, and not like any other you will read again.
Book Review: Authentic Summary: 5 Stars
I found "Dandelion: Memoir of a Free Spirit" to be a touching and compelling biography. Ms James captures the feeling of growing up in Los Angeles during the 50's/60's wonderfully. And although she had a horrendous childhood she approaches those memories with sensitivity and insight, recognizing the yin and yang of one's existence, and ultimately displaying the resilient person she is. Highly recommended.
