Book Reviews of DaemonBook Review: Has Everything Summary: 5 Stars
OK, I'm at the bottom of the "food-chain" reviews, even tho' I bought the book on release, nagged instapundit into paying for it, no freebie 'in the mail!
Just a great story! No Cyber-Punk/Steam Punk/super enhanced mental internet wizards (see Mirrored Heavens).
3/2/1 stars, you're idiots and I've tagged your reviews as "no help"! BTW, with time to spare looked at your previous reviews, still think you're idiots!
Think it's all BS?

Book Review: Awesome read! Summary: 5 Stars
Daniel Suarez does something amazing with Daemon. He takes everyday tech and slowly builds it to something futuristic and amazing. The story is riveting and all-to plausible in today's world. Daemon enmeshes the reader in a reality very close to our own and lets us see the possibilities we are approaching.
This is a very technologically centered work, however, the author presents it such that you don't need an engineering degree to understand. This work is "designed to be comprehensible to all people on earth, regardless of technological level or cultural background". I feel that Mr. Suarez really excelled in this area.
Book Review: So possible that it is scary Summary: 5 Stars
This book was recommended by a friend and I was mildly intrigued by the description. After the first 40 pages or so, I was hooked and drawn into the story. Practically non-stop action, suspense, and a dash of philosophy now and then. And the fate of spammers is the secret desire of anyone with an e-mail account.
This is a description of what a full-scale cyberwar against corporate and government infrastructures might be like. For me, it also pointed out the reliance modern society has on technology. If that tech was suddenly no longer available or was completely compromised by your enemy, how could you fight back?
Book Review: Thrill Ride for Geeks Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this book - once I got started I couldn't put it down. It is so refreshing to read a book that doesn't abuse technology but rather handles it accurately and raises interesting questions about the possibilities.
I've developed a reflex to cringe when many books or films approach anything to do with tech. Finally one of our own has written something that handles the topic with intelligence and knowledge.
Of course it is a thriller and things are pushed out to the max - but rather than being ridiculous or stupid, these possibilities are intriguing and fun. Awesome, awesome book.
Book Review: Really like it Summary: 5 Stars
My sister recommended this book to me. She says she was a little tired with the technology and I could see why! The descriptions of the technologies used are very real and everything is within the realm of possibility, other reviewers opinions notwithstanding.
I couldn't put this book down and after finishing I am still thinking about it. The finish is the only part I didn't like, clearly it is leaving space for a sequel (called freedom(TM)). Character development is also a little lacking. Nevertheless, this is a great book to read and a great intro into a lot of topics of our time.
