I just started DJing a few months ago, and I really refered to this book a lot. It's especially helpful for setting up your equipment, detailing exactly what you need to do and what all the various settings are for your turntables, mixers, and what have you. The author does the best he can for teaching beatmatching, but unfortunately I was still a little lost. It's really something that you have to just figure out. With this, at least I had some sort of starting off point. I was pretty terrible for a week or two, but then one day I just "got it", and can more or less beatmatch now. I'm not a 100%, but way better than before. Without this as reference, and especially the really great supporting website, I'm not sure that I would have continued after my initial first couple of awful sessions. This is a great source of knowledge, especially for the price. A great value.
