Book Reviews of DIGITAL CONTROL COMMAND (Aspects of Modelling)Book Review: US Bargain or UK rip-off? Summary: 3 StarsA useful basic DCC primer aimed mainly at the UK railway (not railroad!) modeller but with useful tips for those on both sides of the Atlantic. The prices of DCC equipment in UK Pounds Sterling underlines how much British buyers are ripped off at 2 Dollars to the Pound - or is it that American buyers can get bargain prices? Even the price of the book is twice as much in Britain as in the USA!
Book Review: DCC - An Excellent Introduction Summary: 4 StarsAs an "old school" model railroader, I was hesitant to convert to Direct Control Command. This book give the "Newbie" to DCC a very clean understanding of the concept and applications. Very good book.
Book Review: British Introduction to DCC Summary: 3 StarsThis is a fair introduction to digital command and control for model railroads but it is written and published for the British market. An American can learn something but would be better served by a book that takes U.S. terminology, standards and available products as the basis.
As an introduction, this does a fair job. It describes the basics but does not get into anything very advanced. It's good for covering the concepts and showing the possibilities.
