Book Reviews of Crochet from the Heart: Quick Projects for Generous GivingBook Review: colorful, beautiful, simple Summary: 5 StarsI can't wait to get time to start some of these projects. She shows them done in such vibrant colors, with easy instructions. She also makes suggestions within the text of the individual project, as well as a listing in the back, of ideas and places to donate your completed projects to. I would definitely reccomend this book to anyone.
Book Review: Love this book Summary: 5 StarsI just received this today, and all the projects look great. There are only 2 or 3 that I wouldn't make--finger puppets, a wrist band, a choker--but the rest are adorable. I'm thinking of making the baby hat and booties for a soon-to-arrive baby, and the blankets are cute too. I love the footie pattern, and I can see that it would be fun to embellish projects with the flowers.
The projects are definitely easy enough for beginners--I'm one. She has a nice instuctional section. I probably won't use the yarns she used as they are a bit pricey, but she gives you the weight of the yarn, and the gauge, so you could easily substitute.
So far, this is the best pattern book that I've gotten.
Book Review: Great Gift Ideas! Summary: 5 StarsI loved the book, both the great colorful photos, and the diversity of the projects, but also the idea that the projects are good for giving - both to family and friends, but also to charity organizations. The fact that there is a list of places in the back of the book to donate finished projets to, makes it really easy to have fun making things, and feel good about donating them.
I also love the fact that the book is clearly geared toward novice crocheters, which I definitely am! So many of the books I've looked at have deceptively easy looking patterns, until it comes time for me to execute them! In Kristins book I can follow her directions, and come out with great looking things!
It's also nice to be able to make something that looks good, but doesn't take months to make!
Book Review: what you see is what you get Summary: 3 Starswhat you see on the cover is exactly whats inside, not more. very easy. good instructions.
I did not like the projects much, but it is a matter of opinion.
