Book Review: I love stumbling across little gems likes this one!!

On a non-related Amazon search I stumbled across this book. I was compelled to read it due to the excellent reviews it had received. And after reading it, I am glad to report that Cosmic Banditos is one of the coolest books I have ever read. I am not one to normally laugh out loud when reading, but this book was the exception. I couldn't keep the chuckles in! The author manages to meld two completely non-related subjects of drug running and quantum mechanics into a seamless and captivating tale. This book is a must buy for people who enjoy out of the norm books, or those who just want a change from the more serious titles usually found on best seller lists. Heck this book should be a must buy for ANYBODY who likes to laugh, period!Book Review: Funniest book ever! Read it.

I admit, I have never read a book which made me laugh as hard as this book did. Let's see... "I grabbed a banana and held it up. 'What are bananas made of?' The old Indian licked his lips. 'Banana stuff,' he replied. This was more or less what I'd hoped he would say. 'And what is banana stuff made of,' I inquired smugly. The old Indian's response to this question took me by surprise. 'The Great Spirit,' he answered without hesitation." Well, I have to say that his answer took me by surprise as well! I just can't say enough how ridiculously fun to read this book. Amazon have to put "guaranteed laugh or your money back" to market this book.Book Review: "The Book" Lives On!

The book was out of print so long I never thought I'd get to read it again. I could ony describe it to others as funnier than Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I once read excerpts of this book to my friends on a road trip from Omaha to St. Louis. It was one huge belly laugh after another. We were forced to change drivers or simply stop several times due to unconsolable fits of laughing/blinding tears. I loaned the book to a friend and never got it back. Now it has been reprinted. I have ordered a new copy and will never let it go!! I'm looking forward to another road trip.Book Review: hawkings would dig this book.

Best. Fun. EVAR!
I don't think I've ever had so much fun reading a book. It's at the same time one of the most outrageous things I've ever read, yet very familiar. I feel connected to the intellectual curiosity of the narrator, even though some of the most bizarre, unbelievable circumstances surround him.
If you like quirky, unrestrained narratives AND you enjoy lol'ing while reading book on the L train... then buy this book!
It's a quick read too, one of my favorites to read over and over again.

I was a Weisbecker fan prior to reading Cosmic Banditos but I had not idea what to expect from the book. It's fantastically fun to read and the humor actually had me laughing out loud which is rare for me. It has a cult following for a reason and if you are a fan of the crazy styles of someone like Hunter S. Thompson than I think you'll enjoy Cosmic Banditos as well. If you have read any of the Weisbeckers other books I think you'll get a kick from hearing about some of the his crazy adventures as a younger drug induced individual.
