Book Review: For sure, my favourite cookbook

I wish I had learnt to cook with this book, it would have saved me a lot of time.
It has taken my cooking skills to a different level, even though I have been cooking for many years. This book is full of good tips and the recipes do work. It is perfect for someone who cooks every day, it has very good detailed instructions, yet the recipes don't take a full day of prep and most ingredients are easily available. A purchase you won't regret!

This cookbook is truly a gem. It is an abridged culinary education, which is perfect for an aspiring home cook like me. Every single thing I have cooked and baked from this book has turned out beautifully thanks to the step-by-step instructions and photos alongside. I do not eat meat, but made the braised short-ribs for a dinner party and they were met with rave reviews!
I highly recommend this cookbook to aspiring home chefs!

I've been cooking for years. My saintly wife has lived with more experiments than anyone shoyld have to endure. In the few weeks since I got this book, and have taken its lessons to heart, she has proclaimed that my cooking has "reached a whole new level" (which means she likes it, and maybe me, better.
And I agree. The book is great. I learn something new each time I pick it up. Thanks James Peterson!!!

This book is what has been missing in the world of cooking instruction for a long time. James Peterson always has enormously informative books and this newest is no different. "Cooking" takes the reader step by step through various techniques, most of which I learned in culinary school. I bought this book in December and just started working with it. Fabulous is all I can say. The recipes are delicious. Abundant photos and instructions guide you on technique and explain the purpose of traditional methods. And the results are wonderful. I've had more fun with this book in the past few weeks than any other cookbook I've ever got.
