I am going to do stand-up, and this book showed me what and what not to do. It also brought to light many of the fears and problems that even the most successful comics face. They were the same problems that I have been concerned about, and I thought were faqmiliar only to me, and I now realize that just because I have these fears does not disqualify me from doing or wanting to do stand-up, but it shows me just how much I have in common with the successful comedians.Book Review: Great Read

Ajaye gives great insight to the aspiring comedian in this concise read. I have never been on stage but this book has helped tremendously in the writing process and my eventual presentation. The many interviews he conducts show a wide variety of approaches and thought processes. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone that is thinking of taking it to the stage.Book Review: A Great Resource

This book was very useful. Mr. Ajaye made a great effort to interview a wide array of comedians (as well as "industry" people) and ask for their insight into the art of Standup comedy.
I enjoyed the fact that he didn't ask the same cookie cutter questions to everyone. Instead, He asked a broad range of questions, many of which were unique to each interview.

This book is amazing! The interviews are fantastic. Whether you are an open-miker or a seasoned vet, you will learn a ton from reading the interviews. He interviewed the best, some of them, when they weren't even at the top of their game, which makes it all the more interesting.Buy this book!
Book Review: Great input from modern masters!

I really enjoyed this book quite a bit. There's not a lot of material out there quite like it, and the stuff that is seems a bit more dated. All of the interviews in this book took place within the past ten years, or so. I was able to mine many "nuggets" that I believe will help my stand-up.
