Book Reviews of Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana

Book Review: excellent
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are a Nirvana fan, or a Kurt fan, or a Foo Fighter fan, or an Eyes Adrift fan, Hole, whatever, it doesn't matter. You GOTTA buy this book! It is excellent. Before this book, I've never really read a book for just my own pleasure. Always for school. But, being a diehard Nirvana fan, I bought this book, and read it everyday, and it hooked me.

This is the best Nirvana book around. If you have this book, you don't need any other Nirvana books. Truly, truly a great read about a great band. Keep Nirvana around, they're better than most the ... corporate rock out right now. =)

Book Review: For any *real* Nirvana fan
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best Nirvana book I've ever read. Unlike the others (i.e., by Dave Thompson), there are no impurities. This book doesn't read like a tabloid. Because of the interviews, everything in Come As You Are is true. Best of all, this book was written before the death of Cobain. Therefore, it isn't filled with the ranting of an author who never knew Cobain telling the reader how "oh, you could see the pain, the TERROR is his eyes..." Instead, Cobain himself tells the story of Nirvana. Come As You Are ,its really good.

Book Review: One of the best Bio's ever written
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been a major fan of Nirvana ever since they released Nevermind, but up until i read this book, i never knew what had happened with the band. This book was amazing, it gave you an in-depth look into what made Nirvana, with alot of input from Kurt, Chris, Dave and just about anyone who had anything to do with Nirvana throughout the years. I have never read a bio quite like this, if you are interested in music, not just alternative or Nirvana, you should definitly read this book to see what bands have to go through to make it big.

Book Review: A wonderfully well written, insightful bio.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been a big Nirvana fan for my whole life and I've read a couple Nirvana biographys and none were as detailed, insightful and in-depth as "Come As You Are". Off the top of my head I can't remember reading a Nirvana biography that said so much about the history of the band and of the band member's lives. So, if you're a big fan of Nirvana or have just recently discovered they're tasteful (and sometimes gratuitus) music, I suggest reading this book to learn all that you can on Nirvana.

Book Review: An insightful biography of this global phenomenon.
Summary: 5 Stars

This book looked into Nirvana from the inside out. It recognized the outside view, but focused on how the band reacted to different events. Michael Azerrad also didn't just take the word of the members of Nirvana. By interviewing former band members, family members, and friends and enemies, it painted a picture for the reader to look at, not just reporting a story from the mouth of the band. That leaves the reader to pick out different details and interpret the "picture" their own way
