Book Reviews of Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana

Book Review: A review of Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana
Summary: 5 Stars

Come as you are: the story of Nirvana is an intimate look at the band and puts us in the band's shoes. It goes into the most descriptive detail of them growing up miles apart but with mostly similar lives. It takes us from the cradle to the stage with all three band members. It shows the real side of Kurt Cobain that no one ever knew existed. Through all the tours, drug use, and media scrutiny, Azerrad tells the real story of Nirvana from Nirvana. I would recommend this book to any and every Nirvana fan and also anyone who would like to know what it is like to be a rock star, and what its like to be Nirvana.

Book Review: AWESOME
Summary: 5 Stars

With so many tabloid type books coming out about Kurt and NIRVANA, this book remains the best, the only auithority book on NIRVANA. The closest I can think of to this book is Cobain by Rolling Stone. It details Kurt and Krist's childhoods up to the release of In Utero. The stories are candid, Michael Azzerad really holds nothing back. Besides the in depth stories, it has many rare pictures, and a great amount of info on NIRVANA recording sessions and songs. If you like NIRVANA, then you have no excuse not to own this book. It is the NIRVANA bible. Accept no other but this, the ONLY authorized biography.

Book Review: Absolutely stunning, every Nirvana fan MUST HAVE THIS
Summary: 5 Stars

A really good book - I'm still reading it but I am hooked. Much better than most other stuff because Azerrad seems to put across Kurt's opinions and points of view, then contrast it with the media's sensationalism. A lot of information on each album and explanations for why each track on "Bleach" and "Nevermind" was written (it'll probably do the other albums but I'm not that far into it yet!). Doesn't focus on his death at all apart from the chapter at the end. Shows both of Kurt's sides. Lots and lots of photos. Buy this book now even if you have only heard one song.

Book Review: Kurdt Kobain
Summary: 5 Stars

This book shows why Nirvana was definetly the greatest punk/pop/rock/metal group ever in the history of the world.Even though as the book says Kurdt never wanted to be a role model he is and always will be the only person who a too huge amount of people will ever look up to.When the book deals with his depression, which a lot of kids deal with,it gives insite to his world and the way he lived it.Kurt is my best friend and even though its sad to admit will probably the only person I will ever look up too. Great book but it shouldn't be read by those who know not what it means.
