I so loved reading this book! What a great, clever, interesting, and intriguing story. I found it hard to put down, and I was always interested in what was going to happen next and what thoughts main-character Nita would have. Nita is funny with her quick-comebacks, but underneathe there is so much more. She uses her jokes to sincerely act out her artistry (as a clown), but also to get by and protect herself from the realities of her losses and pain.
I hadn't heard of Clown Girl as a love story, but I definitely saw it as one. I like what it says about soulmates.
The writing is incredible. The book both funny and moving. It's unique and at the same time, I connected with the story and characters.
