Book Reviews of Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui

Book Review: Inspirational and motivational
Summary: 5 Stars

After several years of cluttering, I read this book. It inspired and motivated me to start clearing space like I've never done before.

It's very well written and easy to understand. Karen Kingston shares experiences from different parts of the world that are truly amazing. She gives clear and concise definitions of why we keep things and how ridding ourselves of them can be a liberating experience. She also explains how clutter affects our energy levels and many aspects of our everyday lives.

The book gave me hope in more ways than one. Since reading it, I've cleared several areas of my home, have more space and energy, and I've donated many of my belongings to charity, family and friends.

I feel more free and happy now that my energy is gradually being restored. If you feel like you're a slave to clutter, this book can change your mind. You don't have to sit around and feel hopeless anymore. I feel it's been a tremendous help and I've been recommending it to all my family and friends who suffer from packrat syndrome!

Book Review: A Way of Life for Us Now!
Summary: 5 Stars

Clearing your Clutter WORKS! And even if you don't buy into the sprituality of Feng Shui (I don't) a common sense approach to clearing the clutter from your home can ONLY make you (and your family) feel better.

True Story -- I married March 1999 and bought this book in April. I spent all of May reorganizing our home (and donating most of its contents to charity) and became pregnant (despite being told I was infertile) in June 1999! Coincedence? I'm not sure. At the very least, clearing out all the clutter from my home (and office FYI and car) helped me (and my husband) relax and begin to enjoy our time together rather than stress over the overwhelming amount of responsiblility we felt trying to keep our chores done. And I AM sure THAT is why I became pregnant.

Now that I have a 4 month old baby, we are trying our hardest to utilize what I have learned in the nursery and I hope we will be able to raise a happy son that never looks upon housekeeping as the overwhelming chore his parents did.

Book Review: This Stuff Works!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is amazing. I have an earlier version without the photographed cover, but it's very easy to read. Karen uses very straight-forward and practical instructions. A third of the way through the book, I already wanted to start clearing away the clutter. I have noticed a remarkable difference immediately after tossing out three garbage bags and donating a sandwich back of loose change to charity. I'm much more revitalized. Since I'm moving house, I've been clearing out unnecessary clutter where I can and plan to take this book with me to my new place.

Additionally helpful are the last two chapters on clearing clutter of the body, i.e. impurities. She stressed the importance of a cleansed colon and how bowel movment irritations could also be a contributor of negative energy. Not an attractive subject to discuss, I admit, but after following a few of her tips, she was completely right. I felt better instantly.

A very reasonable guide to for those just beginning to understand feng shui.

Book Review: Easy to understand for the first-time feng shui exposure.
Summary: 5 Stars

This book should be a first approach to feng shui if you are a "collector" of stuff. There are references to why and what lead us to accumulating clutter. When I started clearing clutter I was amazed at the personal rejuvenation of energy and control over my surroundings. Added harmony to the home environment ensued. I am now making small changes to more "feng shui" my home and personal office, and will study those changes to ascertain any resulting benefits. Added benefits to this book are basic discussions regarding physical health, which can open your mind to how we treat and expose our bodies to certain foods and chemicals. This book is a great introduction to the feng shui process and has given me great insight into the benefits of incorporating feng shui principles into my personal home environment. I can also see the benefits of this personal experience and additional education as a representative of sellers and buyers as a real estate sales professional.

Book Review: Magical!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is magic. I had very little intention of clearing my clutter, but this book kept falling into my lap, literally! After reading just the first few chapters, I had to put it down and get to work! I've been a clutter-aholic and collector of (fine)..things...all my life. Suddenly, I'm taking multiple garbage bags of things from my walk in closests, breaking up collections, etc. I have a lot more work to do, but so far we (my family and I) have cleared out an incredible amount of ..Stuff... and feel so much better! One funny part I do want to share, a clear sign to me I was reading the right book was the chapter about Collections. Karen says "...while the more eccentric gather...sewing machine attachments,..." Among my other "collections" I DO have a collection of sewing machine attachments! OPPPPS. I'm getting this book for all my friends and relatives for the Holidays. I'm not telling them it's magical. I just want to stand back and watch.
