I was driving down the road a few days ago and heard the song "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman for the first time. I have been a fan of Steven Curtis Chapman for a long time. He has written and recorded several songs that grasp us and remind us of the importance of love and family. "I Will Be Here" has become one of the best wedding songs of all time.
I moved from Florida to Tennessee a few months ago and my 11 year old daughter lives with her mother in Louisiana. Hearing this song reminded me of how much I miss my daughter and how much I have missed in her life by living apart from her. Unfortunately this is a result of marital divorce. Divorce changes everything and takes your life down paths that are usually far from ideal.
The song "Cinderella" reminds us of the love our little girls need from their fathers and how they seek love, attention, and affirmation from us. I couldn't listen to it without weeping in my car. It is a heart gripping song with an important message. A message that tells us to love and admire our little ones because they will grow up and be gone before you know it. Time passes faster than we can ever imagine.
This little book captures the story in the song and is filled with great pictures (including many pictures of Steven Curtis Chapman and family). Even better is the fact that the song "Cinderella" is included on cd in a plastic pouch on the inside back cover for you to listen to whenever you desire.
This is a wonderful book to buy and either have as a keepsake or give as a gift for Father's Day as a reminder to love our little girls as much as we can before they are grown and leave home.
