Even though this book, Child of Satan, Child of God, is now out of print, it is a must for anyone interested in the true story of the Tate-LaBianca murders of 1969.
After much hype via the media, and also by the bestseller, Helter Skelter, written by the prosecutor of the case, it is refreshing to get an in depth, behind the scenes account of what really took place in the lives of the young people controlled by Charles Manson.
Susan Atkins is forthcoming in her biography, that traces a troubled childhood, directionless teen years, and her first meeting with Charles Manson; the man who would change her life forever.
When reading Susan's account, one can finally realize that there was much missing in Mr. Bugliosi's Helter Skelter; the other side.
With unprecedented cases such as this, it is difficult for the public to even begin to understand a horror so bizarre, yet through Susan's eyes and her words, one can better realize that those who were controlled by fear were victims in this tragedy as well.
Aside from the crimes, Susan's experience with Jesus on Death Row is awesome and encouraging. Since the publication of this book, many lives have been saved by Susan's example.
I highly recommend this book, not just to the true-crime buff, but to every reader who seeks clarity in confusion, and above all, the truth.
