Not only is this the most comprehensive guide available for the would-be chicken farmer, it is also just a funny book. I would read it if I had no poultry aspirations for Luttman's plain-spoken wit and common sense mentality. The fact that it is a chicken resource beyond compare is almost just a bonus. I think Rick and Gail Luttmann did a really good job of explaining about the care and joy of raising chickens. I actually learned a lot from my chickens before reading the book just by observing and listening to my chickens and the book confirmed this. But all in all it is a great book written by two people who could be your neighbor.Book Review: Great book for beginners!
