Book Reviews of Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3 (Chicka Chicka Boom Boom)Book Review: Fun counting book Summary: 4 Stars
Chicka Chicka 1,2,3 is a good counting book, not quite as catchy as the alphabet version. I'd buy this book simply for the color-coded 1-100 section on the inside back cover. I find that part more effective than the book itself. My two kids (4 & 5) both learned to count to 100 with it. They didn't quite catch on to the book portion because it just counts by 10's, but they did still like it. Actually seeing the numbers all written out and separated by color made it click. The first thing they do with this book is flip to the back and compete to see who can count to 100 the fastest. The book reading always comes second.
Book Review: Great Book Summary: 4 Stars
Even though this didn't have quite the same rhythm as the original Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, it's still a great pre-school book. My four-year old loves it.

this is a fun book to read aloud. it's impossible NOT to read in a sing-song voice. My grandson loves it!
Book Review: Nice book my daughter likes Summary: 3 Stars
However, I admit that I am not crazy about the book with it's contrived rhymes and odd story. However, my autistic daughter loves this book and knows it by heart. In my opinion, this book is just a shadow of the wonderful "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" with it's "skit skat skoodle doot flip flop flee" and other wonderful phrases that kids love. But since my daughter loves this book and requests it regularly during story time, I'll give it three stars. "Buzzing close, bummble bees!" Pretty weak compared to the "boom boom."
Book Review: Pretty, but not sure I get it Summary: 3 Stars
I admit that I am a huge fan of all the contributing authors to this book, but I'm also one of the people who are a little annoyed with these books. Granted, this particular rhyme makes more sense than the original book, but I still think there has to be a better and more entertaining way of counting.
Still, the pictures are bright and who doesn't love a good rhyme? The repetitive phrases are also good for kids.
