Book Review: Nice Book of Tactics Puzzles

Pretty good book of tactical puzzles, covering a pretty wide range of skill levels (from mate-in-ones on up) presented in such a way that it helps drill mating patterns into your head. If you're playing below master level, its my firm believe that focusing on tactics provides the quickest path to improvement, so tactical puzzle books are quite valuable, and this is a pretty decent one.Book Review: Chess: 5334 Problems, Combinations and Games

I bought this book thinking I could take it with me to campus and solve some problems while waiting between classes. Its not clear from the picture, however, that the book is rather large, perhaps the size of a dictionary. So while it contains a lot of problems, which I've found to be good so far, its a book that you keep on a nightstand as opposed as to taking it with you.Book Review: Chess Problems

This is a very large collection, with virtually no explanations or annotations. I was put off by it at first, but now I think it is of value. A large number of one, two, and more move mates are shown. I think there are 600 miniatures from master games and some of his famous daughters' games. I use this book for teaching chess concepts to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. If you're a chess enthusiast like me, you probably already have access to many of these problems, but here I have literally thousands of them in a single volume.
