Book Reviews of Chess: 5334 Problems, Combinations and GamesBook Review: A Book for Everyone Summary: 5 Stars
This book is a must have for anyone who is even remotely interested in the game. It starts off with simple checkmating patterns that even the newest player can understand, and then progressively increases in difficulty. But no worries! Even if you are wanting to learn how to play the game, this book teaches you that too! From setting up the board to winning the game, this book is quickly becoming a staple of everyone's chess library.
Book Review: Terrific Learning Tool Summary: 5 Stars
Polgar starts you off with very simple problems that gradually build in complexity. Rather than tell you what to look for, he lets you figure out the answers for yourself. Thus you learn to recognize the patterns that lead to checkmate.
You can work every problem in sequence, gradually improving your skills, or just dip into it at random for puzzle-solving pleasure.
Wonderful book, glad I bought it.
Book Review: Chess: 5334 Problems Summary: 5 Stars
Excellent storehouse of chess knowledge and problems for the beginner to advanced players. Thousands of mate-in-2 problems, hundreds of combinations, and 600 miniature games of masters at your fingertips. As a coach, I can almost exclusively use this book for material. The only thing lacking is graphic description of the many tactics which erupt therein.
Book Review: Good value for the money Summary: 5 Stars
Imagine all the time the author of this book spent collecting and organizing all those puzzles.
Now think of the tiny amount of work time that it would take you to earn the price you pay for this book.
This book is well worth the price, in my opinion.
