Book Reviews of Cat & Mouse (Alex Cross)

Book Review: Mousetrap
Summary: 5 Stars

I first discovered James Patterson when I read Kiss the Girls, a work that made my head spin. Mr. Patterson has a knack of keeping you guessing, getting you wired, and yet keeping you interested enough that you can resist the urge to look at the last page to see who-dunit. When I discovered Cat & Mouse, I was at first sceptacle that it would be anywhere near as good as Kiss the Girls. I was right. It was better. With the creation of Alex Cross and John Sampson, Mr. Patterson has created real life heroes that the average Joe Schmo can relate to, and the Cross family becomes your own, because it mirrors your own. Would that everyone had a Nana Mama. From Casanova to Soneji, Patterson has overcome the most difficult of obstacles for a frequent writer: creating a believable villain who is unique from all others. Cat & Mouse is a rollarcoaster, all the more terrifying because it rips through your brain forcing new ideas to the top. Enjoy the hunt...

Book Review: Another hit out of the park for James Patterson
Summary: 5 Stars

Cat and Mouse brings back Gary Sonji from 'Along Came A Spider' to get revenge for Alex Cross. Then comes Mr. Smith, a killer terrorizing Europe.
Things get rolling when Gary Sonji sets up shop in Grand Central station with a sniper rifle and starts shooting. Now comes Alex Cross, he is called to Grand Central station to get Gary Sonji, but something is stranged, he is firing only six shots at a time, and vice versa.
Alex notice this, and find out that HE IS NOT THERE! The gun is on automatic fire where the trigger is pulled back to fire, Gary is now on a train heading out of the area. While Mr. Smith, a London detective (I cant remember his name, sorry.) is having a horrible trying to catch Mr. Smith, but it is no easy task.
So with Alex Cross searching for Gary Sonji, since I dont want to spoil the story, it ends in a tight twist and it is definitely worth reading.

Book Review: One of the Best Alex Cross books ever!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love the Alex Cross series, I had skipped over this one to get to Pop goes the Weasel. once I had finished most of the series I went back I read the book. Boy was I glad I went back. This book has the best twists of all the series so far. When I thought I had something figured out I was totally jarred off in another direction. This most likley also has the best villians is the series. Even though that is a hard to say for James Patterson. I also relized that Christine and Alex were made for each other. Its kind of funny that I'm saying that about a book, buts its true, Jamellia is nothing. The only warning is that while one of the best books it also probly the most violent. If you have a weak stomach do not read this book. Other than that this book has nail biting suspence, chilling vilians, and is one heck of a book.

Book Review: Do it again!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Wow!!! When I first met (encountered) Gary Soneji in "Along Came a Spider", he scared me to death. Now he appears again in Cat & Mouse to go after Dr. Alex Cross and get his revenge. Only now Gary Soneji is totally out of control, not the methodical killer we encountered in "Spider", but a killer that wants to go down in a blaze of glory (no pun intended). I could not put this book down. I got the sunburn of my life because I didn't want to stop reading this book long enough to go inside. Of course the book is not entirely about Gary Soneji but introduces us to another "alien" killer by the name of Mr. Smith. His killings are so precise and unemotional that it makes you wonder how James Patterson comes up with this stuff. Fantastic Book---A must read.

Book Review: engrossing novel - hard to put it away
Summary: 5 Stars

I was given this book to read by a friend to while away the time whilst I was on holidays. Not having read any of his other books, I didn't kow what to expect. However, the novel held me in its grip from go to whoa. I enjoyed Alex Cross' character & the tireless way he was hell bent on finding the murderer only to be confronted with a frustrating end to the clues provided. Soneji proved to be a totally insane, sadistic character, but seemed really realistic. I felt I could relate to the terror he imposed on his victims due to the author's in-depth analysis of the books' characters. A highly enjoyable read,I found it hard to put away the book at night. I'm waiting eagerly for the next instalment in the Alex Cross series.........
