Book Reviews of Cat & Mouse (Alex Cross)

Book Review: You're clutching your heart the whole way through.....
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the fourth book of JP's I've read this summer...okay, I was late to join his fan club and have a lot of catching up to do.
Having read so many of his books in such a short span of time I can tell you what draws me to want to read the rest of what he's written.

1) He's the master of suspense. He knows how to construct a plot that keeps you turning the pages.

2) He creates characters you really care about. You find yourself cheering for them, whether it's Alex Cross or one of his "one-off" characters in his stand alone novels.

3) He's very kind to other authors and is constantly plugging other books he likes within his own novels.....I find this very generous.

4) He seems like a really nice guy.....last night I finished "Cradle and All" and was impressed by his sympathy for others. He's the kind of guy you wish there were more of in the world....especially single guys! (yes, I know he's married.) But he's the type you'd love to invite to a dinner party, he comes off as smart, entertaining, and compassionate towards those around him.

5) And finally, he writes really fun, fast-paced novels. They are an absolute pleasure to read!

Bottom line.....I recommend all of his books!

Book Review: Scary Book!
Summary: 5 Stars

This Patterson book features two sadistic killers in the persons of Gary Soneji and Mr. Smith. The two of them are laying
havoc to the United States and Europe.
Gary Soneji whom we have seen in past Patterson novels does a
sniper killing in Union Station. He kills several people. He used
the techniques employed by Charles Whitman, the sniper who killed
several citizens in the tower shootings at the University of
Texas in Austin.Texas.After escaping he goes to New York.He then
goes to Penn Station and kills several people by stabbing them in the station. He and Alex Cross finally have a showdown. After
that Cross and his family are savagely attacked in their household.Cross is critically injured in the attack.
The case in investigated by an FBI agent named Thomas Pierce.
Pierce has also been active in the investigation of Mr. Smith
a mass murderer who has been on a binge killing in Europe.thpursuit of Mr. Smith proves to be exciting as well. The real identity of Mr. Smith proves to be shocking as well.
This is another excellent book from James Patterson.Do not
miss reading it.

Book Review: This my first James Patterson book, and it is awesome!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the first James Patterson book that I've read I think it was fantastic. I'm not into thriller, but it kept me on my seat. I have to find "Along Came A Spider". Because I was definitely into this book. I think James Patterson writes very descriptive characters with twist to keep you hanging in your seat. I like that the characters of color are hard-working individuals and not the typical thugs hanging on the street corner looking for a hand out, which most of America is willing to believe. I say bravo to James Patterson whose obviously a man of color who wants America to see and know that it not always the people of COLOR, who commit crimes but the crazies next-door who look like the average JOE who are truly serial killers. This story came alive for me, because I know that the serial killers are typical average looking white males. James Patterson keep up the good work, the book is too real for some who don't like the light of the truth shining in their faces. I take my hat off to you and say keep em coming baby.

Book Review: Alex Cross Has Never Had It Tougher
Summary: 5 Stars

Alex Cross is back in Cat and Mouse along with his old nemesis Gary Soneji who goes completely insane and starts murdering people constantly with eyewitnesses he just doesn't care now he's spilling blood everywhere. But Why? the answer to that is a nice little shocker your sure not to expect. But of course there's Mr. Smith who is actually smarter than Gary and also has a very very shokcing secret not to mention who he is and why he is commiting these murders in such a grotesque fashion in a very interesting pattern. Alos of course Alex has a love interest...Chrisitne Johnson and is completely in love with her and knows that she is the one. Patterson i must say is not a bad romatic writer either. The love scenes were passionate and well worded so nice work Patterson don't ever quit we need you. You must pick this one up only if you have read the last three. But then again go ahead and pick this one up but i still strongly recommend picking up his last three Alex Cross novels. Patterson can't seem to fail. Pop The Weasel should be great.

Book Review: Exceptional thriller
Summary: 5 Stars

Cat and Mouse by James Patterson Warner Books, 1997

A former nemisis of Alex Cross, Gary Soneji, has escaped from jail and is intent on building his reputation as the best (worst?) serial killer in the world and to add Alex Cross to his growing list of victims. Shooting people like fish in a barrel in Washington and New York train stations brings Alex in close contact with this vicious psychopath whose final words seems to indicate that Cross and his family are doomed.

Meanwhile in Europe another serial killer nick named "Mr. Smith" is dispatching victims at and incredible rate and he too would like to end the career of Alex Cross. As Alex becomes involved in this case he must figure out the tantalizing clues left by the killer before he too becomes a victim of the brilliant "Mr. Smith".

A real page turner filled with incredible tension softened somewhat and made human by Alex's growing love for the beautiful Christine Johnson. For thriller readers a real must.
