Book Reviews of Cars and People: How to Put the Two TogetherBook Review: If I had this book when I started selling. . . Summary: 5 Stars
I couldn't find anything to read when I started selling cars 10 years ago. You fall down. You pick yourself up. That was my training. Now, I dont know if any one way to learn is better than the other. I wouldn't want to risk it if I were new. This book spells the sale out clearly.
Book Review: The need for a sales oriented top notch guide has ended. Summary: 5 Stars
The 7 Controllables is the book for the back end. This is the front end book. Period. Enough said. Though it is better intended for the green pea, I think that the pro will get something fom it as well.
Book Review: This is a very well written book on a very hard subject. Summary: 4 Stars
I believe that most car guys are alot like me; detail oriented control freaks. Though this books fault is the fact that it reads simply it is also its greatest strength. It is written as if the author is chatting to me over a beer. He is thorough and deliberate. His passion for what he beleves in is obvious. At times I found the book almost too simple. However, I am pleased to have read it as it reminded me of the things that I should be doing. I don't know about the other reviewers, their reasons for slamming this book or others, or their motivations. I do know what I enjoy and I enjoyed this book very much. The reason I cannot give it 5 stars is for the fact that it can be improved. There is always room to improve.
I will say that I liked the glossary as well as the fact that the author gives help on how the reader can get ahold of him if there are any further questions. I tried to reach the author and was pleasantly surprised at how fast he responded. We spoke for nearly an hour on the phone.
If you are now in, or are thinking of joining the rest of us in the car business, I strongly encourage that you read anything you can find on the subject. This book should be at the top of your list.
Book Review: Now this is what I was looking for!!! Thanks be to God. Summary: 4 Stars
I spent over $30 bucks on two books to help me learn the car business. One book was useless. This one made the money I spent well worth the experience. It begins with a keen look into the auto business. The chapters are laid out well. The chatty way the author speaks is refreshing. It is easy to follow and the material is actually useful in everyday encounters. I liked the fact that the author gives contact information in the back of his book where I went on his website, contacted him and he actually phoned me to help answer a few questions. I closed a deal with his input the very same day I spoke with him. What other sales training book can say that? I do not know of any. I wouldn't give it 5 stars because I do not believe that anything deserves a perfect score. However, this one is a 4 and a half star book, as close as you are going to come to perfection.
Book Review: Very good book on the car sales business. Summary: 4 Stars
Never mind the fact that there is no formal "write up" section in this book, the set-up for the deal is everything. the author goes into great detail in setting up the sale. He explains "a close is a natural end to a great presentation." This book gives valuable insight into just that. The human behaviors that customers and salespeople have which guide each role into and through the deal are well expressed through stories which made me feel as if I were sitting across the table from the author and he was speaking to me directly. I'd have given it five stars, but there is always room for improvement. I visited his website and found that he has a book coming out about the write up soon. I will buy that when I can. Good job! Thansk for the help.
