Book Review: A very beautiful ending
Summary: 5 Stars
It's different from the cartoon ending in some respects; for example, what exactly happens differs, and because the manga doesn't implement magic into this last book, it's more realistic, and I guess more people can relate to it, which makes it more endearing. And it's very touching. I've read it three times in a row (right when I got it) and I cried every time, maybe more so the successive times than the first. The pain that Sakura feels is so well described with the few simple words that Clamp chose, it's remarkable. The anguish that she feels you feel too, because if you can put yourself in that position--and even if you can't it's still so well-written that you don't really have to--you'll understand what she's going through and you'll feel for her. The simplistic vocab is expected (they are fifth graders after all--a few are older but that doesn't matter as much), and it gives the stories a nice touch. Plus the fantastic artwork can stand alone as one of the reasons why you should buy the manga (it was one of my reasons). And the ending is so happy, it would put Cinderella to shame--Clamp put together so many pairings to bring the message of love across it's almost repetitive (it's NOT, but almost). A very well done romance novel that you'd want to read again. Like Amber Spyglass, though significantly different. This twelfth installation is one that I recommend for those looking for a sweet romance and a lovely ending.
