Book Review: Very good guide for film photographers getting into Canon EOS Digital cameras

I'm glad I read and listened to the amazon.com reviews. I could follow the manual okay, so I didn't need a book which was fleshing out the manual information. I also didn't need a "newbie" guide to photography since I had been a fairly experienced SLR film photographer and photo print maker many years ago (although I can always learn something new!) What I needed was something to tell me all the new things I need to know about digital SLR's and Canon in particular.
For instance: Why is any given EF lens to be considered the equivalent of a longer focal length lens in 35mm, but only for some Canon cameras, including the used 20D I just received for Christmas? This was something I never had to consider because 35mm is always the same frame size, but the digital sensors can be made smaller than that. With the Canon *0D bodies (and also the Rebels) you end up with a cropped picture, although the depth of field will remain that of the original focal length. This means, for the uninitiated, you can't get as wide a view with one of these bodies and a 24mm EF as you can with a 24mm lens on an SLR 35mm film camera. I now know I will have to either buy a 15mm lens or upgrade to a "full frame" camera body to get a true wide angle shot.
These and many other things are clearly explained in this book. Not only that, but for a person in a visually oriented profession, he has really managed to write in excellent, easy to understand style. The book is well organized and he sticks to the subject. I can skip around in the book and easily find the answers to my most burning questions.
Highly recommended for people like me!
