Book Reviews of Buddha: A Story of EnlightenmentBook Review: Fascinating Story Summary: 5 Stars
Buddha: A Story of Enlightenment by Deepak Chopra is a book by a spiritual writer but only this time it is a imaginary tale about the life of an Indian prince named Siddhartha, who became the Buddha. It's an interesting story about a motherless boy who has a fate: to be a holy leader as foretold by astronomers at his birth. After much struggle the Prince achieves enlightenment and becomes the Buddha.

Book Review: Awesome!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This book is an amazing retelling of the legend of the Buddha's birth, early adulthood and enlightenment. Chopra is a great author, and he does a superb job in writing the legend in the form of a novel, trying to make it as "realistic" as possible, and making the basic tenets of Buddhism accesible to the Western reader who may not have a clue. The writing is extremely entertaining, and Chopra makes no bones about the fact that he filled out the legends and that his is a fictionalized account.
This book will teach you and make you think...
Book Review: Buddha Summary: 5 Stars
I picked this book up on a whim and I'm so thankful that I did-everything happens for a reason. This book is not pushing an ethos. It tells the story of a prince who gives up riches to become a monk who then finds enlightenment and lives as a buddha. It is full of action, love, hate and drama. The path to enlightenment was not easy or quick, it was difficult and trying, yet our main character fights on and changes the world forever.
I love this book and highly recomment it.
Book Review: Excellent book Summary: 5 Stars
I have read several other Deepak Chopra books in the past, but this one feels different. Style of writing is a lot easier to read and this fictionalized version of the life of Buddha makes for fascinating reading. Growing up in India, I had some understanding of Buddha's life and wanted to know more. I could not put the book down till the end. Strongly recommend this book for anyone interested in knowing more about Buddhism and how it evolved.
Book Review: Very Enjoyable Book Summary: 5 Stars
This book is easy to read, interesting and thought provoking. I wasn't looking for instuction on Buddhism or for a historical report on the life of Buddha. I wanted a book that captured the essence of the life of Buddha. I wanted to think about how a person might journey to a place of awareness as Buddha did. This book gave me a way to see how this could happen. I really enjoyed it.
