Book Reviews of Bud, Not BuddyBook Review: Bud Not Buddy Summary: 5 Stars
If you think your childhood was or is horrible then you don't know Bud. Bud's mom has died so he will have to travel from Flint, Michigan to Grand Rapids, Michigan trying to escape the dreadful adoption home. While on his journey, Budd will try to find the biggest jazz musicians said to be his father. That won't be an easy task. Throughout Bud's journey some strangers will end up as his friends and assistants. He'll have to learn to trust others and how to let go of things he loves. Bud has to make this journey to prove that he can survive out in the world on his own or he'll be sent back to the adoption home.
This book is good for people of any age. It's an emotional story that keeps you turning the pages to find out how Bud's life ends up. You see Bud struggle to become more self reliant and feel his every pain and triumph. I recommend this book as it is one of my favorites.
Book Review: This is really an awesome book! Summary: 5 Stars
This book- Bud, Not Buddy is one of the best books i have ever read. In 5th grade our teacher made us read this book as a class, and everyday, i looked forward to it because i was so into the book. This book is really suspensefull, and so exciting! It is told in first person by Bud (NOT BUDDY!!!) who truly has a wonderful personality. He is laugh out loud, pee in your pants funny! He is an abandoned child growing up during the depression, and is going around only having a flyer, some rocks, and a photograph, trying to find his father based on the info he has. He is a brave little boy, and if he was actually a real character i would look up to him for many reasons. I would definatly not have the guts to walk like a bizzilion miles trying to find my father!!! I loved this book so much, i read it again in the 6th grade. I would recomend this book to anyone in the world.

WARNING: BUD NOT BUDDY MAY CONTAIN EXTREME EXCITMENT !!
Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis takes place in the 1930's in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The main character"s name is Bud. Bud is 10 years old. He is a little poor black boy that runs away from his orphanage house to find his father, but finds his grandfather instead. At first his grandfather is a grumpy old crum who doesn"t know how to smile. He doesnt like bud or at least pretends not to. Bud is having a hard time bacause he doesn"t know where his dad is and his mother is dead.
I liked reading this book because I liked reading about poor kids going on adventures and succeeding.
I recommend others to read this book, if they are interested in reading books that start very sad and end with an unexpected happy ending.
