Book Reviews of the Buckingham Palace Gardens: A Novel (Charlotte & Thomas Pitt Novels)Customer Review: I am in awe of this woman's writing skills! Summary: 5 StarsAnne Perry is probably my favourite author, and I have been reading the Charlotte and Thomas Pitt series for a long time now. This latest in this series is probably the best in this wonderful series! I say this with nor reservation at all because it is, quite simply, a wonderful book. We don't get to see much of Charlotte in this book at all, but we have Thomas, and we have wonderful Gracie (the Pitt's intrepid little maid). Pitt has been called in to solve a particularly gruesome murder in Buckingham Palace, and the Queen Victoria's son the Prince of Wales (Albert) is in residence. He may be implicated in this particularly gruesome murder, and Pitt is having to step carefully in order to not step on royal toes. He recruits little Gracie to help him. She comes to the palace as a maid, and Pitt thinks that she may get some inside information from the staff this way. Gracie is wonderful! I have always liked her character, and in this book she gets a chance to really shine. Ms. Perry is a very skilled author, and this book is realistic, vivid and chilling! If you have not already read any of the books in this series, I strongly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of historical mystery, but start at the beginning with "The Cater Street Hangman". There are about 24 books in the series so far, so prepare for a wonderful time!
