Book Reviews of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

Book Review: A Perfect 1st Book
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this as a shower present and decided to read it to my baby at 6 months. I was amazed that she looked at the pictures and seemed to enjoy the book. By 8 months, she would get mad when it was over! (can you say no to a child who wants to read it again who is not just trying to stay up later??!!) At 10-months she looks away from "white dog" in the book to look for our white Maltese! I am amazed that some of this is sinking in already-and wished I had read to my other 2 children earlier! Have yet to see how long Brown Bear holds her interest, but so far its value is more than I ever imagined.

Book Review: Try the Spanish Version!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is obviously an all-time classic. I read this book as a child, and now I am reading it to my own children. We bought the Spanish version (sold on Amazon.com) as an introduction to a second language for our children. The simple and straight forward text of this book lends itself wonderfully for this purpose. It is called "Oso Pardo, Oso Pardo, Que Ves Ahi?" It does a beautiful job of teaching animal names, colors, as well as some simple grammar in Spanish. The colorful illustrations are wonderful reinforcements to promote learning with. We could not be happier with our purchase!!

Book Review: perfect gift for early readers
Summary: 5 Stars

What a fantastic book! "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you see? I see a red bird looking at me; red bird, red bird, what do you see...." It's the first book that my 3 ½ year old has memorized cover to cover so it looks as though she's actually reading. Thanks to the colorful illustrations, big bold pages and whimsical creations, any child would be drawn to this book. The phrasing lends itself to memorization, the first step on the way to actually reading. A must buy for young children, right up there with the author's other similar book, Polar Bear, Polar Bear.

Book Review: My 3 kids Adore this book
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this book by request of my son (3), who knew the book from daycare (they sing a song with the text of the book). Since we got the book it must have been sung over a hundred times!. My son take the book and pretend he's reading by singing the text while looking at the pictures, he knows all animals in it (also all animals from similar books like, panda bear and polar bear, wich I also got for them). My girls (2 year old twins) also love the book and try to do the same as their brother singing the little song. This book is a must have for the creative parent!

Book Review: Fabulous Read-Aloud
Summary: 5 Stars

This picture book has a multitude of identifiable images that is
appropriate to readers. Children will love the text and repitition of words which will keep them engaged. The overall theme of this book relates to colors and animals. This is shown within the illustrations, which are bright. The colors that are used within the story help to create a sense of high-energy not only among the images seen, but by the readers as well. Overall, this is a great book to have. It will keep children engaged, as well as wanting to read it more and more.
