Book Reviews of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?Book Review: One of 5 books to take to a desert island? Summary: 5 Stars
If there is any childrens book I never get tired of, it's Brown Bear. My almost 7 year old loved this as a toddler and now reads it to her two year old twin brother and sister - and THEY love it. Its repetition is comforting and familiar, yet never boring. The photos helped her to learn to 'read' it by doing a picture walk long before she could really read other books. The words are so simple she memorized it. And she was so proud of her reading that it inspired her to continue to 'read' this way with other familiar books. VERY highly recommended....even I am not tired of this book. One of the best, IMHO.
Book Review: A Must Have Book for all Children. Summary: 5 Stars
Brown Bear, Brown Bear has provided my child with reading enjoyment since 9 months of age. The colors are outstanding and eye-catching to the little ones. This is most definately her favorite book. (As the book shows). It teaches children of various animals and associates them with colors. At the age of 14 months, my daughter could depict every picture and state it by name and color. True educational book for the young at heart . If your child does not have this book, trust me, buy it - it is well worth it. It's companion book, "Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What do you hear." is as phenomem.
Book Review: Who Doesn't Love This Book?? Summary: 5 Stars
I've read this book to a class of 1-2 year olds and then to a class of 4-6 year olds. Every single child LOVED this book. My Pre-K students wanted to read it day after day. They even ask to play teacher and read it to each other. It never gets old to them. I personally don't find the pictures extremely fascinating, but something about them and the simple rhyming text captures the attention of every child hearing/looking at it. I HIGHLY recommend this book for young children. It's great to see children's faces light up simply when they see the book. I've never met a person (young or old) who didn't enjoy it.
Book Review: A true Classic. Summary: 5 Stars
There's a reason why this is a Classic... it's a book that any child will love. We started reading it when my son was less than a year old, and it's still one of his favorites now that he's almost 3. The pictures are in vivid color and the rhyme is simple. His favorite page is the last one, where he likes to point around at all the animals and see how fast I can name them for him. We also like to flip through the pages and make the sound of each animal, instead of just reading the story. The board book version means even the littlest hands won't harm the pages, so it will be in our home library for years.
Book Review: A classic to pair with Oso Pardo Oso Pardo Summary: 5 Stars
As everyone points out, this book captivates young and old. I suggest pairing it with the Spanish version so that you and your child are quickly, easily, and in a fun way, learning a second language! Adding it to my Spanish classes, I read the Spanish version, then the English, then the Spanish again. Children from ages 2 and up learn colors, animals, and more! Along with another curriculum, you can't miss by using this great way to introduce your child to a second language! What a pleasure!
