Book Reviews of BrokenBook Review: recovery at its best Summary: 5 Stars
Having been sober for 21 years in AA and 20 years of AlAnon, this is one of the best descriptions of the recovery process that I have ever read. Bill is so insightful and honest about the feelings and thoughts of an addict - no matter of whether it's to drugs, alcohol, food, people, etc. His story and insights were both harrowing and inspiring. Thanks so much for you honesty and for keeping on - one day at a time!
Book Review: broken Summary: 5 Stars
Thank you for writing about your experiences with drugs, as a mother it made me understand a lot of things, mainly how hard u have to work at staying clean and how deathly it can be. I bought a copy for my son who is in the recovery process. I could see the pain between the lines. thanks again for sharing the courage to give up a lot just to stay involved. Good luck and God Bless!
Book Review: A must read Summary: 5 Stars
Any compulsive should read William's journey to sobriety. I really believe it could help especially those who keep failing. Also a must read for family members and friends. Understanding how much they lie and hide is such an important part of their healing. William is so honest about what he did in those terrible years, it can't help but help others be honest. Midge
Book Review: Great story of overcoming addicition Summary: 5 Stars
An insightful look inside the addiction process and recovery. Should be read by everyone who has ever wondered about addiction, and especially those young people who might be contemplating any type of substance abuse. Strips away any glory surrounding being an addict and lays bare the hurt and despair that ultimately results. A great read.
Book Review: Inside the Mind of an Addict Summary: 5 Stars
Moyers puts the reader into the mind of an addict; and I should know because I am an addict too. I have read lots of recovery memoirs and this is the best at recreating the thinking of an active addict. I wished he had spent more time on his treatment and the changes in thinking that are the core of recovery.
