Book Reviews of Brisingr (Inheritance, Book 3) (The Inheritance Cycle)

Book Review: Brisingr
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved this book. My mother got me started on the Inheritance Cycle just after the first one came out. I've always loved fantasy and when my mom said 'Here try this one.' I was excited and curious. I'd never heard of Chris before and realized this was a new writer. I was wondering if his stories were good or if they weren't worth the effort. Oh was I happy. It was awesome. I loved it. And now that the third one has come out....I knew it would be better. The books in a series are always better past the second. The first is the classic that started it all. The second is the filler. And the third; the third begins the adventure. And was I excited but also a little disappointed to realize there will be another. Disappointed to know that the story hadn't ended; but excited to know I'd be able to continue to read this story and that more would happen. I love long series because it never ends. There's always more to read and see. I hope this one turns out to be one that just doesn't end abruptly. I've found those kinds of stories to be rather annoying. You get to the best part that would seem to take forever...and it ends. Just like that. Please, Mr. Paolini...don't make it end just like that. Your series is turning out to be the best I've read...Don't make it end just like that. Thank you for all your hard work in making what I consider one of the best series I've read. Your up there with Kevin Anderson(Saga of Seven Suns) and Robert Jordan(Wheel of Times). Have a good year! And wish you the best!

Book Review: Love is fire is Brisingr
Summary: 5 Stars

Brisingr is charged with imaginative energy and compelling characters that come alive in this grand adventure. Relaxing in my favorite reading chair in the evening with Brisingr; I can easily hear the mighty roar of Eragon's dragon Saphira during an engaging battle. And feel the intimate connection they share with one another in a powerful bond of love.

The first book, Eragon, literally fell into my hands by chance while I was browsing along a shelf of books in a local book store and it fell off the shelf so that I had to react quickly and catch it. Curious, I took it home and by the time I finished reading the first chapter I was hooked and have remained hooked through Eldest, and now Brigingr. The story of Eragon, and all of the other characters who come into the orbit of his hero's journey, is cleanly told with descriptive language that uplifts one's spirit from the workaday world on our daily life and puts a smile in your heart.

For me: Brisingr flows naturally as an extension of the preceding books in this adventure story. Paolini has crafted a fun read for anyone lucky enough to find these books. No matter what age you are, I recommend that you come to this exciting fantasy story with the innocent spirit and the open mind of your own youthful inner hero where magic can still live in your world. Nay sayers are a dime a dozen. Sweep those aside and give yourself a treat with this book. I give a big YES to Brisingr and indeed to the complete series. I eagerly await the next book.

Book Review: They just keep getting better!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book follows the battle on the Burning Plains. Eragon's loyalties are pulled in multiple directions and he has to make decisions on which promises to fulfill. Roran needs help saving Katrina from the Ra'zac, the Varden need his help in the battlefield, and the elves and dwarves are also fighting battles throughout Alagaesia and need his help.

In this book, you encounter many new situations. Eragon goes on a journey to help Roran, while the Varden deal with unrest and low morale in the army. Eragon also makes a trip to Tronjheim to sit in on the election of a new dwarf king. This book carries Eragon all over Alagaesia. My favorite part is when you finally learn the meaning of Solembum's prophecy regarding the Menoa Tree.

This book actually made me cry at parts! The writing is absolutely fantastic. Each book in the Inheritance Cycle is better than the last! It is obvious that Christopher Paolini has grown as a writer since the first book. When I read Chris Paolini's books, I can't put them down! The depth of detail and his writing style provide a vivid mental image. I can read his books and it's like watching a movie in my head. I hope he finishes that fourth book soon. It's as bad as it used to be to wait for the next Harry Potter book!

This book left many loose ends to tie up in the final book. There are still a couple of parts so Solembum's prophecy that haven't been fulfilled (such as Eragon leaving Alagaesia forever), so I look forward to the end of the series!

Book Review: Excellent, engrossing, the best yet....
Summary: 5 Stars

Brisingr is definitely the best of the series so far, Paolini's writing skills have improved leaps and bounds from Eragon and he has created a rich, involving and highly detailed world, obviously well thought out and painstakingly wrought. I have loved to watch Eragon grow and mature as he takes up his responsibilities, and while he still obviously cares for Arya, I'm glad he doesn't spend half the book drooling over her like a moonstruck calf. I almost wish he wasn't quite so impervious to harm, it's hard to be too excited about an upcoming battle or concerned about the hero's fate when he can heal himself out of hand, no matter how dire his wounds. Yes, it's wordy, but it is a book, not a text message, a book dealing with an epic war spanning an empire, several different cultures and peoples and dozens of characters with multiple storylines. What did you expect? I think that everyone is just too used to watching TV or playing video games and wants instant gratification. All in all, I'd say this is the best of the series so far and a wonderful, rich, thrilling adventure in its own right. The only thing I was disappointed in was that lack of a conclusion. I've been waiting for the end of the Eragon saga for a couple of years now and I was not aware that the series had be extended to four books, so the words "The story will continue and conclude in book four." were a shock. But rest assured, when the fourth book comes out I will be one of the first in line to buy it.

Book Review: I don't understand....
Summary: 5 Stars

I just don't understand why everybody hates this book. From my POV, I love the discriptions. I love long books I can take forever ro read, I read each page, and on pages that are very discriptive, I read them again. Personaly, I loved teh character development. I mixed my love for fantasy with my love for knowledge. I like to know the interworkings over every last thing there is to do with a book I love. The worst thing that will happen for me in the cycle, is when it ends.

Paolini got me with book one, and I havn't stoped loving it since. I reread all of them when I'm bored and don't have a new novle to engross myself in. To me, Paolini does exactly what I want him to, discribe things so that I can see them, feel then, smell them, hear them. I like to be in the book. I like to forget I'm reading and look left and see the person speaking back to me. But thats just me. I do this with all my books.

Overall, I loved the book for just about everything. I gave it 5 stars cuz I could warrent 4. There were only minor devices I didn't like, and they were just from a taste view, and I just could imagin saying someone was a bad writer because it didn't match my taste. The main thing I didn't like was the ending to this book. It left way to much open, even for a cliff hanger. Another few pages 10 or 20 at most, and it would have wraped up nicly. But to leave them like he did was just to open.

So read it. Love it. Live it!
