Hehe... I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud from reading a book! Oh wait, I can.. it was Jen Lancaster's first book, Bitter is the New Black. Jen's writing contains somewhat Seinfeld-ish humor-- situations that you just cannot believe! She is hilariously sarcastic, smart and witty all in one. I found myself relating to so many of the things she wrote about!
This second book starts somewhere where the last left off, however you don't need to read the first one to understand it. Each chapter is a different short story, but they all go together and illustrate Jen's life as she moves out of debtville and begins life as a real writer-- and as a temp to make ends meet in between book checks.
As an added bonus, the city of Chicago is the backdrop of the book, and where I live. It's always fun to read about places that you pass everyday!
