Book Review: So much of myself..
Summary: 5 Stars
Tracy's story really struck a nerve and I see so much of myself in her and her story. I do not believe she tried to sensationalize her life at all. She reveals warts and all and as far as other viewers questioning her bringing up her past sins because she is forgiven is absurd. The story needs to be about sins to show how much she needed a savior. The story needs to show the abuse to show how much she needed to forgive; the way Christ forgives us.
I was just like Tracy a pretty picture on the outside strggling in the acting field, wanting acceptance and love because of the abuse and the hate I had on the inside.Making horrible decisions based on dysfunction. You would be suprised how many emotionally damaged individuals are insatiably drawn into this line of work.
I commend Tracy for her brutal honesty,and her story that does have a powerful impact on believers and those who are struggling to find their way.
I think she especially speaks to so many young women who are so much like her but by the power of Christ are given a second chance.
Summary of Breaking the Perfect 10
Tracy wanted life in the spotlight and all the glamour that comes with it. However, the pursuit of this life was not all she had bargained for. Even as she held the prize she thought she wanted, she felt an emptiness and despair in her spirit.
In pursuit to become Hollywood's "perfect 10," Tracy Lindsey Melchior broke God's Perfect 10-the Ten Commandments. She broke every one of them. She was relentless in her pursuit of fame and fortune. However, little did she realize at the time, that she was being relentlessly pursued as well. God lovingly and gently sought after the heart of a sinner named Tracy. And Tracy was found, not shinning bright on the big screen but kneeling at the lowest point in her life when she lacked even the strength to look up. Breaking the Perfect 10 is a beautiful story of the power of Christ's forgiveness, patience, and love.
