Book Review: Helpful for those who need organization
Summary: 4 Stars
I can be a bit scatterbrained with my ideas and like to write them all down at once, as they're coming to me. This book actually has sections where you can write down specific things about your book AND it gives that written information a title and meaning for you, showing you how to use this information (i.e., helping you stay focused and organized). Some of the information seems commonsense to me, or maybe it's something that comes naturally to me, but I'm definitely benefiting from the ideas about staying motivated. The stickers located in the back of the book contain positive, motivating and inspirational quotes/comments. It's important to surround yourself with a positive environment while you're in the writing process (e.g., putting those stickers in a spot where you'll see them each time you write). This is a great book all around with helpful advice for writing your first novel and it's taken me further than I've ever gone in my goal to write a book in general. I was about 12,000 words in the first week (about 8 days) in my 10,000 words per week goal.
One last thing: it was actually one of my co-workers who referred this book to me after I mentioned working on an outline for my novel. Thanks Joel!
