Book Review: Excellent Journal for tracking Diet, Cardio, Workout Activities

This Journal is setup for 13 weeks (approximately 3 months). There are two pages for each day, lots of room to enter activities and diet info (there are Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack, Dinner, Snack spaces) when I don't follow this specific formula (such as with pre-workout and post-workout protein drinks) I just write the time by each one so I know exactly when I have each meal.

There is also an area to track your measurements, as often as each week, if you like. You can also plan out each week, what cardio activities you'll do and which bodyparts you'll be working on each day - very handy when planning out your week ahead.

There are pages in the front where you can put in all food items and track their Calories, Protein, Fat and Carbs - it's an easy reference to flip to for that info as you track these in your diet each day. A lot of the food items are already entered with room for you to add more.

There's a few additional pages to track miscellaneous items such as when you purchase equipment, clothing, supplements, etc. Good reminder for someone not sure how much they spend on those items during the 3 month timeframe. For someone that buys a lot of supplements, there's not enough room to put them all - but you're probably aware of how much you're spending already on a monthly basis.

I love the size of this book (8.5" by 6"), I can see it easily fitting into any gym bag, backpack, or purse. I like how it's a spiral book, it has sturdy plastic covers - I can see this book holding up to the daily rough treatment of being opened constantly to fill in diet info, and workout info at the gym. I also like how it has a Vinyl Utility pocket - I can slip in diet tips, before photos (and progress photos), the pocket is not very big but it keeps the extra stuff I'll want to carry down to a minimum.

This is the best journal that I have found for all this information that I have always wanted to track each day. It has most of what I'd want to enter already typed on each page. I just have to fill in what I eat and what exercises I do (it has Cardio exercises listed that you can just check off, adding in your minutes, etc), so there's not a lot of extra daily info that I must enter each day that I wish they'd already had there - they already put it in there for me! I can see myself filling this in each day for 3 months - well worth the effort. In the past, I have given up on journals because I couldn't track everything I wanted to or I had to write in too much each day and it took up too much of my time.

It's great for beginners to learn how to track information and it's great for more advanced workout gym-rats who have a specific goal that they are shooting for and need to track everything that they do each day. Such as getting reach for a specific contest and needing to write everything down.

I can see myself buying more of these journals in the future to keep tracking this information.

The BODYMINDER is the ultimate physical fitness diary. With a focus on workouts, it can also be used to keep track of any and all other exercise.

Each "day" consists of two pages with an organized, easy-to-use layout for recording workout details...from equipment & settings, to reps & sets, to difficulty level, to heart rate, to muscle groups, and more. There is also space for listing the details of other (non-gym) exercise...from walking the dog, to playing a sport, to dancing up a storm! In addition, each day's meals can be recorded as well as any vitamins or supplements taken.

The 224-page book is spiral bound with a durable leatherette cover. There are 91 days' worth of daily records and thirteen Weekly Schedule forms to help you keep on track. Other sections include food counts on over 100 common foods, heart and blood pressure range charts, progress charts, personal game scores, fitness expenses, and more. In the back there is a vinyl pocket for holding photos, notes, cards, etc.

The BODYMINDER is compatible with virtually all popular exercise and fitness plans and can, indeed, be your key to reaching and maintaining your fitness goals.
