Book Review: Great routines
Summary: 5 Stars

While Jorge Cruise did not invent this style of slow rep weight training as he claims (as I've been reading books and implementing this style of weight lifting for 10 years), I like this book for the variety of workouts. I use to have my list of 15 or so exercises that I would do and would have to figure out each time what I'm going to do, so I love just flipping the page and having it right there. I believe there's around 3 months' worth of routines and then you can just start over again, so I'm really enjoying his routines and the variety of them.

One review complained about him not mentioning warming up. I've read numerous books on this style of weight lifting and when you lift this slowly, warming up is not necessary.

The jacket of the book does make you believe you don't need to buy much for his workouts, but you do need a good set of dumbbells or resistance bands. He asks you to use resistance bands, a medicine ball, and dumbbells, but I just modify the exercises enough that I can get by with just using the resistance bands, which I bought his recommended GoFit set for about $25 and I am completely satisfied.
