Summary: 5 Stars
Shreve has built on her previous novels (and you should read them) to place this story in an historic home which has witnessed so many family dramas. At first, her short chopped paragraphs were an annoyance, but as the book progesses, the characters are very well fleshed-out. An incrediby emotional read (and I am not a mushy-love reader).
