Just like Hanli's other books this, too, is a gem. The poetry is precious and the illustrations are beautiful and very creative. The lesson in this book is that you don't need to be beautiful or an overachiever to have friends.
Blossom the mouse thinks he needs to fly to have friends because there is a beautiful flying squirrel who is beautiful and popular. Blossom the mouse learns his lesson by trying to fly from a tree and nearly has a terrible accident. He finds that he has friends no matter what he does. This is a good lesson in friendship.
