Book Review: Excellent Read - but why did you even bother to review it ?

I read this in one setting, over an evening. It is what I expected from the Anita Blake series: Sex, blood, transformations and a good story. I have enjoyed all of this series and continue to do so as it continues. One of the things that bothers me though are the number of irrelevant and frankly whining reviews from people who complain about the sex, about the blood, who want more character development and less plot, or more plot and less blood, and on and on and on.
HEY ! _ The format on this series has not changed in any significant way in seven books and not in any major way since its inception. If you don't like sex and blood and things in the night, don't buy or read the book !!! I can relate to the reviews that have issues with specific handling of characters or plotlines whether I agree or not because at least they are appreciative of the entire effort; that is assuming I can find any amidst the sturm and drang from all the old ladies who visit a red-light district bar and complain about the nightlife. If you don't like the environment, then don't go there, and DONT bother writing a review that just bores the rest of us to tears and buries those with some genuine criticisms to make.

I have to admit, although the plot does not really go anywhere, I still enjoyed this book. I'm at a loss as to why people continue to read Hamilton's book and complain about them. If they do not want to read the same sexual stories that go nowhere, then stop reading. Instead of spending money, reading, and then complaining... give it up. You have to have learned by now that the stories are all going to be the same in the sense that they add to the endless overall plot. I enjoyed this book for what it's worth, but if you're looking for a big change from the last 14 novels, don't read it. More sex, more blood, and more Anita.Book Review: A great read!

I personality loved this book(which isn't surprising because I love almost all of the Anita Blake books) and I don't really understand or agree with all the negative reviews about it. Unlike many of first Anita Blake books like Guilty Pleasures and Lunatic Cafe, this book wasn't boring, and actually grabbed and pulled me into the story as I read on. Laurell K. Hamilton is an excellent writer and to those who criticize, you really have no idea what you are missing.Book Review: great stuff....really fun!

The anita blake series is amazing! I love the series and I want more! Laurell Hamilton is a very creative writer. It is a sexual book and is grafic so if you do read there is sexual content and some may not like that but the girls I work with and love this series and cant wait to read the next.
