Book Review: thank you! Summary: 5 Stars
I am a young writer struggling with the craft and discipline of plot in my fiction and non-fiction. This book helped me go from being confused and baffled by plot to having depth and tension in all scenes of my stories. I am so grateful that I found such a clear, concise guide to help get me through the toughest part of the writing process. Now I am proud of everything that I write and have confidence when I submit a story to be published.
Book Review: Just what I needed! Summary: 5 Stars
I received a copy of Martha Alderson's book from a kind friend, just as I was getting ready to despair over my current manuscript. Wow, what a great guide! It offers specific direction and practical exercises to tie a plot into a cohesive string of scenes. Now I finally understand what I was missing. I'm using Alderson's book in my re-write, and it's flowing very well. I highly recommend her book for any stage of the writing process.
Book Review: A Great Tool ...Even For a Plodder Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not much of a plotter...but more of a plodder. I'm prone to just getting all my thoughts down with no clear idea of how these ideas fit into the big picture--or even if they do. But one week, my computer crashed and I couldn't just write stuff. I took out Martha's book and gave it a try. Martha's book is not only full of inspiration, but it was helpful to see all my ideas charted out into a big picture.
Book Review: Made Simple Summary: 5 Stars
As a writer of two successfully published books, I hit a brick wall on my third. This book breaks down plot -- the problem area for me, and I believe is likely true for most writers as well -- in such a simple, direct method that now I'm off and running again. Just ordered the DVD and am looking forward to seeing what she writes about in action.
