Book Review: HIS FAVORITE!
Summary: 5 Stars
Granted, my son is only four months old, but this book is a big hit. I'm sure he'll outgrow it eventually, but that's the case with any book! If you have a very little one, this is a great book to start with. My son has only a dozen or so books so far, and out of all of them, this is the one he kicks and coos at the most. I'm attending a baby shower in a couple months and I'm definitely going to throw in a copy of "Black on White" for her.Book Review: Classic book for new babies

Newborn babies' vision is not highly developed. High-contrast patterns or pictures are easiest for them to see in the first few months of life. Tana Hoban's black & white board books are terrific choices. With simple illustrations of objects that will be familiar to babies, this book meets all my criteria for choosing books for babies. I bought this book for my 4 day old baby. The contrasts grabbed his attention. Immediately afterward, something clicked - he had a new interest in trying to focus on other things in his world. He has no idea what a butterfly or pail is, nor do I try to make a story. I simply prop the book up and leave it on one page for several minutes while he examines it.Book Review: A great book to stimulate your newborn!!!

This book is great! No words, just contrasting black and white pictures. My newborn loved it. He couldn't really concentrate on anything visually, as most newborns are that way, but the minute he saw this book, he just stared and stared at it. i definitely recommend this book to get babies interested in reading at an early age. the images capture their attention, and they can practice turning pages. at 10 months, baby has moved on to more complex books, but now and then this one still catches her interest.
