Book Review: great book!
Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great book! The bird songs are truly realistic, the pictures are beautiful and the description of the species is thorough but easy to digest and even our toddler girl appreciates it.
We're both biologist and it seems our daughter inherited the passion as well!
She's only two, but loves this book. She has already started imitating the songs and enjoys pulling the tabs to see the birds.
Matching the color of the tabs and the buttons is another game she loves to play.
The only issue I had with this book, that I ordered it as used. It was said it's in a good condition, but I wouldn't call torn pages a good condition. Anyhow, we fixed the torn pages, and is still a valuable toy... though next time I will not try to save but rather order a new one.
Summary of Bird Calls (Hear and There Books)
In nature, we often hear the sound of a bird or an animal before we can see it. Our new Hear and There Books have the same effect. After reading a short riddle, children are asked "What am I?" By pushing a color-coded button on the sound strip, they can hear the call of the bird or the animal. When they pull the tab on the right page, the animal is revealed. To find out more about the featured bird or animal, readers can lift the flap on the left-hand page for more detailed information on its habitat, its young, and its behavior. Written by a professional naturalist, these books are beautifully illustrated, fun to listen to, and filled with interesting facts!Have you ever wondered what a certain sound was outside your window at night?
