I've had my old Better Homes & Gardens cookbook for over 20 years. I didn't want to replace it, but I had to.
When I got the new one I checked to make sure the recipes I used the most were still included. Most were, but 1 noteably, wasn't. I have to bake a Black Forest Cake at least once a year. The recipe for it was not in the new book. The problem was easily fixed as the ring bindings are the same size. I just took the pages from the old one with the needed Fudge cake & Black Forest cake recipes along with the Choose-A-Filling recipe & put them in my new book.
Before you throw your old ones away, be sure your favorites are included in the new one. I almost made that mistake. The old ones will now be put away, in case there are more that didn't make the cut to the new ones.
If you're just starting out, this cookbook along with the Better Crocker basics will teach you all you need to know to feed a family.
